CDI (Community Development International) is a Dutch based foundation that was established in 1986 with the specific purpose of supporting the financial sustainability of USK. Additionally CDI provides professional advice where required.

World Vision

World Vision International is an Evangelical Christian humanitarian aid, development, and advocacy organization. It prefers to present itself as interdenominational and also employs staff from non-evangelical Christian denominations. It was founded in 1950 by Robert Pierce as a service organization to meet the emergency needs of missionaries.

Skills training

With the closure of UBEU Schools, the children and youth through Association identify people to recruit and attach for Skills Training in Nairobi and Kisumu. This has slowed down this year due to COVID-19.

Community Children Rights Clubs

As the names states, these are clubs within the communities (Mathare, Ngomongo, Kibera and Pumwani) which promote the rights of children to services and protect them from all forms of violence. The clubs provide children with a safe environment to share about their rights, abuses at home and within the community. They are trained on their rights and responsibilities, issues of abuse are raised with the community for action that will bring about the desired change.

Associations

Under the ECPAT project, the team is working with 10 associations, 5 in Nairobi and 5 in Kisumu; these are mainly girls association and they have been meeting on regular basis .The objective of forming these associations is to prevent others girls from joining commercial sex and so they are rehabilitated and provided with other alternatives of socio-economic livelihood opportunities.

ECPAT

ECPAT is a worldwide network of organizations working to end the sexual exploitation of children. We work at all levels, supporting shelters for survivors, training and supporting law enforcement, influencing governments and conducting a wide range of research.

At the heart of all our work is every child’s right to live free from sexual exploitation and abuse.
